festive recordings on a meditative occasion
"Good rockin' Country feel. And in it - buoyant vibe, despite the sometimes tragic and bitter background (but still a lot of passion, quite vivid and lively elements). To me it sounds like eighties Country music and a somewhat Country Rock. With a touch of nostalgia, with echoes and "harmony" of the times. There are also some Folk patterns and even a piece of Rock'n'Roll with a Honky Tonk mind occasionally. Which then broadens the general perception a bit. Its own originality in a means of manners and singing style is also very felt. Of the merits: a softly, mellifluous voice with a lyrical melody is always a pleasure. Especially when everything is emotional and deep enough. Moreover, when it is quite spirited and affable. A fine selection of cover songs matches this. So if there is one of your favorite songs, then at least it will be interesting to listen to in such a performance. Otherwise, there will be an opportunity to finally get to know and love something from the classics. One point about "Tumbleweed Stew" CD - maybe very loud compared to other recordings (actually quite) and sometimes harsh sound level. Slightly unbalanced between tracks too. But still the tunes are melodious and bright. And the release is still a wonderful showcase, there is a spark in that too. All in all, this is a pretty nice way to support the artist. In return you will get a rather strong, energetic and somewhat unworried mood of the surround (for a time). This is a very stimulating experience." smed28 - 03 January 2022
