Rockin' Hillbilly and Folk Art
"I really like the music project Root'n Toot'n. Listening to their recordings or watching their performance is pure pleasure and an abundance of sensations. All their work is very interesting, full of ideas, saturated with variety, and covering a wide range of aspects of traditional and rocking music. This is done on a rural motive and with a good attitude towards entertainment. All the tracks on "Dawg Gawn It" are very good songs and have different themes. From plain rockabilly, folk tunes, old country and hillbilly style, beautiful love songs, life stories to a bit more teenage sway and fun songs. Each is quite lively and genuine. You can listen to the album without undue stress, but just enjoying the sound. Many arrangements are 'roomy' and soothing. Regardless of the mood of the track - sonority is preserved. Particularly surprising is how in a rather soft form - drive, emotions and full energy are still presented. So much so that even "modern-sounding" outfits will not always be able to compete in expressiveness. There is also an amazing balance in the concept of the tracklist. An excellent transition from one composition to another makes the perception of the album really solid. If you like Country music and you fancy Rockabilly sound, Hillbilly is a delicious word for you.. and you're timeless about Folk music. Then this CD should appeal to you. 46 minutes of a harmonious show will definitely be remembered." smed28 - 07 March 2022
